The First Genotypically Identified Indigenous Red of Lycia, Revived on the Elmalı Plateau after Centuries of Dormancy

First rediscovered Lycia grape, confirmed as distinct genotype.

Cultivated at 1,100m in clay-limestone soils of the Elmalı plateau.

14% alc., pH 3.42, TA 6.83 g/L, RS 3.21 g/L.

Opaque ruby, blackberry and cherry, velvety tannins, vibrant acidity.

Acikara is the inaugural indigenous grape successfully vinified in Lycia and identified as a unique genotype within Anatolia’s Vitis vinifera biodiversity.

Revived after centuries of dormancy, it reflects the high-altitude terroir of Elmalı with its deep ruby colour, aromatic purity, and structural balance.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary as the flagship of the Arkeo range, Acikara symbolizes both a scientific breakthrough and the revival of one of the world’s oldest winemaking legacies.
