We are Likya Vineyards, a family-founded estate on the Elmalı plateau in southern Türkiye. Since 1998, Burak and Doruk Özkan have dedicated themselves to reviving the ancient grape heritage of Lycia — one of the world’s oldest wine landscapes.
Our work blends archaeology, biodiversity, and winemaking: rediscovering wild vines, nurturing them over years, and transforming them into living wines. Today, Likya is home to the Arkeo Collection, crafted entirely from indigenous grapes unique to this land.
More than a winery, we are guardians of a cultural treasure, protecting vines that connect modern glasses to millennia of Anatolian history.
The passıon
Burak Özkan from the very beginning of the project, together with the marketing team.
To promote this passion in the best possible way in Turkiye and around the world, his brother Doruk Özkan has been working alongside.
Likya is not just a vineyard — it is a living laboratory. Out of 50 hectares, nearly half is devoted to R&D vineyards where forgotten vines of Lycia are brought back to life. Each wild cutting is replanted, studied, and tested over years before it can become wine.
Vision for Lycia
This project goes beyond winemaking. With the help of Swiss vine ampelographer Dr. José Vouillamoz, nine unique grape genotypes have already been identified in Likya’s vineyards. These are not just new wines — they are genetic treasures of Vitis vinifera, preserved for future generations. Protecting them means protecting one of the world’s richest grape reservoirs.
